The pipeline ingests from news, regulatory sources, and provider newsrooms on scheduled refresh cycles: CMS.gov, Federal Register, SEC EDGAR, state DOI bulletins, provider newsrooms, and trade press. Content is deduplicated at ingest using hashes. The same press release syndicated across 12 outlets enters the system once.
What makes Radar proprietary: a 1,000+ keyword taxonomy organized into MA-specific categories, where keywords are classified as “primary” (directly signals a category) or “modifier” (context). “Network” alone is noise. “Network termination” is signal. Then we extract structured network events from the text: provider, payor, counties, estimated lives.

The scoring engine produces a relevance score from 0 to 100, weighted by entity match (40 points — who is involved matters most in MA), geographic overlap, source authority, keyword density, regulatory calendar alignment, and recency. P0 alerts (81+) trigger immediate delivery so your team can dig into the details and respond.
Priority tiers drive action
Critical — immediate action. Breaking regulatory changes, provider terminations in your markets, competitor moves with direct impact. Delivered immediately.
High priority — action within 24 hours. Significant business events, major contract changes, material regulatory updates. Included in morning brief.
Notable — review this week. Operational updates, market trends, provider movement that may affect strategy. Included in morning brief.
Background — industry context. General MA news, research, and analysis that informs long-term thinking. Dashboard only.
Scoring components
Toggle scenario conditions
Radar maintains an entity database spanning payors, providers, health systems, regulators, PE firms, and government bodies. Corporate hierarchies are fully modeled — for example, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, and UHG all resolve to the same parent. A signal about any subsidiary automatically surfaces when tracking its parent organization.
Entity detection uses fuzzy matching with alias support. When found, the signal is enriched with relationship context: is this entity your competitor, a watchlist target, or a market participant. Scoring and routing adjust accordingly.
Watchlist configuration
Each organization configures four relationship types: Self (your organization), Competitor (direct market competitors), Watchlist (entities you’re monitoring), and Market (general participants). Competitor signals score higher than market noise. Self signals trigger instant alerts.

Beyond signal detection, Radar extracts structured network event data from unstructured news. A real example from the platform: UnitedHealthcare and UHealth (University of Miami) — dispute tracked from first report through the July 2026 settlement, sized to 202,612 affected members from CMS enrollment across the three counties where the two networks overlap. Other tools return articles. Radar returns actionable network events you can query and filter in your dashboard.
Termination
Provider or health system leaving a payor network. Highest urgency — directly impacts network adequacy, member access, and CMS compliance.
Addition
New provider joining a network. Signals competitive strengthening, potential member acquisition, or defensive gap-filling.
Renegotiation
Active contract renegotiation. Often the earliest warning signal before a termination — tracking these gives months of lead time.
Dispute
Public disagreement between provider and payor. Rate disagreements, quality conflicts, or access requirements — frequently escalates.
Expansion
Provider expanding services or coverage area within a network. New locations, service lines, or geographic reach.
Contraction
Provider reducing scope. Closing locations, dropping service lines, or limiting geography — an early indicator of future termination risk.
What gets extracted
For every detected network event: event type, provider and payor entities, affected states and counties, estimated member lives impacted, effective date (when available), confirmation status (announced → confirmed → effective → resolved), sole community provider flag, and linked source articles for team verification. All structured data is queryable and filterable in the dashboard.
The morning brief is Radar's flagship delivery. Overnight signals are distilled into a prioritized executive summary using domain-specific prompt templates for each signal category. P0 critical alerts appear first with impact assessments. P1 and P2 signals are grouped by category with summaries.

AI summarization
Every signal is summarized using one of 15 domain-specific prompt templates. Network changes templates emphasize geographic impact and lives affected. Regulatory compliance templates emphasize deadlines and affected entities. The result is a summary your team can act on without clicking through to the source.
Story deduplication
The same story appears across multiple outlets. Radar clusters articles using Jaccard similarity within a 48-hour window. Your brief shows one entry per story, not 12 versions of the same press release. Links to all source articles are included for deeper research.
Regulatory calendar integration
Upcoming CMS deadlines (rate notices, enrollment periods, bid submission dates, compliance deadlines) are cross-referenced against detected signals. When a regulatory signal aligns with an approaching deadline, its score is boosted automatically to surface time-sensitive intelligence.
